Waikanae’s new state of the art, family-centred medical centre, Mahara Health, officially opened this morning with a blessing lead by Kāumatua Koro Don, from local Iwi, Ngāti Raukawa.

Mahara Health, located on Ngaio Road, has been taking new patient registrations for the past few weeks, and will start seeing patients today. The doctors are Rex Faulknor, Kirsty Lennon and Stewart Reid. Mahara Health owners, Marlene Thomson and James Westbury, were both excited to officially open the doors. “This centre has been a long time in the making, and needed to meet demand and provide high quality health care to the Kapiti Coast community. “We are looking forward to welcoming new patients.” Mahara Health delivers a broad range of services including doctor and nurse consultations, management of long-term conditions, childhood and adult immunization (including travel), treatment of minor injuries and wound care, minor surgery and biopsies, cervical smears and women’s health, family planning and sexual health checks, and vasectomies, and more.
I can say making the change to this delightful medical centre was a BRILLIANT MOVE, the Doctors are amazing, they listen and give you the time to seek out your medical needs. I can ring and get an appointment within days and I leave with a positive result . I rate this 5+ stars
