Meet The Team

Dr Rex Faulknor
Rex graduated from Otago Medical School in 1974 and worked in Lower Hutt and Wellington for more than 30 years. For 27 years he was a medical officer at the 90-bed Woburn Presbyterian Hospital and Home. In 1985 Dr Faulknor was appointed to the position of Medical Assessor for the Health and Disability Commissioner and worked there for three years.
For Rex the “big one” was obstetrics. Dr Faulknor was delivering 80-100 babies a year, until the year 2000. Fellow GP Mike Short and Dr Faulknor started up a vasectomy service for Family Planning in Lower Hutt.
Dr Faulknor is a Fellow of the Royal New Zealand College of General Practitioners and specialises in Occupational Health, Care of the Elderly, Diabetes, Family Medicine.
Dr Faulknor is a teacher in the Family Medicine Training Programme. Since 2007 Rex has been involved at Waikanae Health and Otaki Medical.

Dr Kirsty Lennon
Dr Kirsty Lennon, trained at Glasgow University and has been a general practitioner for 20 years. She came to
New Zealand 7 years ago and has been working on the Kapiti Coast. Kirsty has an interest in women's health, family planning and in clinical leadership. She is working part-time as a locum within the practice while working around her commitment to the " Health Care Home" development within general practice.
Dr Roger
Jubert Rosich
Dr Roger Jubert Rosich graduated from the University of Barcelona in 1998 and completed his vocational training for Family and Community Medicine in Spain in 2004. He received a Postgraduate Diploma in Practical Dermatology from Cardiff University in 2008.
From 2001 until 2005 he worked in the Emergency Department at Josep Trueta Hospital in Girona, Spain and in several rural practices in north Girona.
On moving to the UK in 2005 Roger worked in several Practices in Yorkshire County, including out of hours, Asylum Seekers, and HM Prison Doncaster.
In 2009 Roger arrived in New Zealand and started working as a locum before settling down on the Kapiti Coast.
He is a keen windsurfer and sailor, and is married with 2 multilingual little boys.
Roger has a special interest in Diabetes, Skin Disorders and Minor Surgery.

Dr Beven Telfer
Dr Beven Telfer is a General Practitioner. Shaped by 27 years of experience in almost every GP role covering locums, registrar, employee and partner; from low cost services to the highly insured; central city and rurally funded; plus hospital liaisons roles. This broad exposure is what shapes his interest in the quality of General Practice.
Beven's interest is working with patients with chronic conditions and getting them to work with the Mahara Health team to ensure they achieve their best health outcomes.

Prue Woodard
Prue registered as a nurse in the late 1970s. After training as a midwife and serving in the Army, she married and had three sons.
Prue has been a Practice Nurse for many years in a variety of settings and is now enjoying being at Mahara Health.

Katie
Katie graduated with a Bachelor of Nursing in 2014 and has continued with post graduate study to gain her PG certificate in Nursing Science. She is now working towards her PG diploma in the same area.
Katie's nursing background started in surgical nursing but for the last 3 years has been working at Kapiti Youth Support.
Originally from the Wairarapa, Katie moved to the Kapiti Coast a few years ago with her husband for work.
Having recently returned to work from maternity leave she is looking forward to seeing patients of all ages. Katie also works at HVDHB on the casual pool and enjoys the variety in both practice and hospital nursing.

Michelle Ingham
I have been working in the health industry for the past 20 years. My role has been as a Practice Manager previously in the Horowhenua region and now to the Kapiti Coast. I still live in the Horowhenua with my husband, John, and our dogs. I have two wonderful children and one grandchild.
My job is to make sure that the practice runs smoothly, this includes Health & Safety, repairs, rosters, etc and looking after our small but awesome team that provides such great care to patients of Mahara Health

Nicola McGuigan
I have enjoyed working in customer service roles all of my working life. For the past 7 years in the Health Industry as a Medical Receptionist.
Having previously lived in Lower Hutt my husband, and I decided to make the move to the Kapiti Coast two years ago, along with our three young daughters.
I enjoy the variety my role in the practice offers, and look forward to greeting, and being able to assist all of our patients.

Jill Delich
Our Receptionist Jill’s working life has been shared between a long career nursing in both public and private practice, together with a passion for food and hospitality as a previous café owner.
After 30 years living and working in Wellington city she is delighted to now be residing at Waikanae Beach with her husband Jamie. When away from Mahara Health, Jill spends time with her two grown up daughters and grandchildren, or pursuing her interests in harakeke (flax) weaving, walking and food.
